A deeper dive

Tyres don’t wear unevenly by accident. Cupping, feathering, one-sided wear and rapid scrub are all symptoms — and replacing the tyre without fixing the cause just wears out the next set the same way.

At Big Wheels, we don’t guess. We read the wear pattern, trace it back to the alignment, suspension or inflation issue behind it, and tell you exactly what’s causing it and what it takes to fix.

The result: you fix the cause once, and your next set of tyres lasts the way it should.

What causes uneven tyre wear?

The usual causes are out-of-spec alignment, worn suspension or steering parts, incorrect tyre pressures and wheel imbalance. Overloading or uneven loads can make any of these worse.

How wear patterns reveal the problem

Each wear pattern points to a different fault. Feathering usually means toe is out, cupping points to worn shocks or imbalance, and one-sided wear suggests a camber problem.
